Empowering Futures,
Building Communities

NEFOTA was founded to move beyond temporary aid. We build self-reliance through community-led development one young person, one family, one village at a time.

A New Kind of Foundation

NexGenium Empowerment Foundation (NEFOTA) is a dual-registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) in the United States and an NGO in Tanzania dedicated to creating lasting change for Tanzania's most vulnerable youth and communities.

Our Mission

"To empower the next generation by providing transformative initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, and leadership, fostering sustainable growth and resilience across communities in Tanzania and beyond."

Our Vision

"A world where every young person has the resources, skills, and opportunities to lead community-driven change and achieve their fullest potential regardless of where they were born."

Empowering Futures: How NEFOTA Began

NEFOTA was born from a simple but powerful recognition: Tanzania's youth face extraordinary barriers, yet they possess extraordinary potential. The founders witnessed communities trapped in cycles of poverty not from lack of ambition, but lack of access.

Rather than create another charity dependent on permanent external support, NEFOTA was designed around self-reliance. Every program we deliver builds the skills, knowledge, and networks communities need to thrive independently.

Today we operate from two home bases Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and the United States connecting global supporters with ground-level transformation.

Our Core Values

These six values shape every decision, program, and partnership NEFOTA makes.

Community-Led

We listen to communities first. Every program is co-designed with the people it serves, ensuring relevance and ownership.

Sustainability

We build capacity that lasts. Our goal is not dependence on NEFOTA, but communities empowered to stand on their own.

Equity & Inclusion

We center the voices of women, youth, and marginalized groups ensuring our programs reach those who need them most.

Transparency

We publish our financials, program outcomes, and impact reports. Every donor deserves to know exactly how their gift is used.

Innovation

We adapt and experiment. We embrace evidence-based approaches and are willing to try new methods to achieve better outcomes.

Safeguarding

We uphold the highest standards of child and community protection. Our safeguarding policies are woven into every program.

Four Pillars of Transformation

Our integrated approach addresses the root causes of inequality through four interconnected program areas, each reinforcing the others.
